Join a team

Each of us has a part to play in the Kingdom of God and you are the only person who can do What God wants you to do. There are many opportunities to serve within St Paul’s Church or its partner charity Lighthouse. Joining a team can be a great way to get to know others.

1ian Administration and Buildings
There are lots of opportunity to push forward our vision behind the scenes. This might be through administration and office support; improving the church buildings and facilities; helping set up and clear away after meetings and much more.

Children’s Church and Youth
What an exciting part of our vision! There are diverse jobs here including the practical or hands on work with children, support for those with specific needs as well as prayer.

The young people at St Paul’s meet in groups according to age for fun and friendship, discipleship, social action and to push the boundaries of the Kingdom.

1andrew Pastoral Care and Prayer Ministry
At St Paul’s we aim to be an authentic experience of community and that means supporting people when times are tough. Pastoral care is provided through Branch each of which has a Pastor - we always need new pastors!   Prayer ministry is offered each Sunday and training is provided after a careful selection process.  Occasionally we refer people onto qualified pastoral counsellors.

tom Lighthouse and Social Action
Our vision is to transform Weston and so we have set up a charity called Lighthouse to offer support courses in family life and marriage, to provide training in basic and life skills and to feed the hungry. If your heart is towards social justice Lighthouse is for you.

Team

The team at St Paul’s is simply great - volunteers and paid staff work together to take forward God’s vision for Weston-super-Mare through this church. It is a privilege to be part of this team: some of them are creative, some wise, some very courageous - and all full of the Holy Spirit.

It can be confusing to work out how a Church of England church works. This is the structure we are using at the moment: the Vicar and Wardens lead the Parochial Church Council (PCC) in developing the overall vision, strategy and headline budget. The Standing Committee work out the operational aspects of the vision. The Senior Ministry Team put that into practice on a day-to-day basis.
