Our church.
Our town.
Our part.
This Gift Day, we’re asking God to provide £40,000 to help realise the wider vision for our church and town. Together, we’re invited to respond with our time, talents and tithes—and to prayerfully consider what God might make possible.
For the future of
our church and town.
“My house will be called a house
of prayer for all nations.”Jesus · Mark 11:17
Hope beyond
Sunday.
We gather to worship.
We go out to bring hope.
What if Sunday were only the beginning? We believe Jesus sends us out to carry his hope into our homes, workplaces, classrooms and school gates—and into every street of Weston.
St Paul’s is a community of people, each with a part to play. Our building can be a hub that equips and supports us as we follow Jesus throughout the week.
We’re already seeing glimpses of that hope: people exploring faith through Alpha, families finding a welcome, and gifts brought to church reaching local families through a school foodbank. Behind each story are people, friendships and lives that matter to God.
This Gift Day, we’re asking God to provide £40,000 to help us take the next steps in this wider vision. We’re also bringing our time, skills and prayers, asking how we can join in with what God is doing.
Hope where we are.
Jesus sends ordinary people into ordinary places. We want the welcome, faith and encouragement we share on Sundays to shape how we listen, care and serve from Monday to Saturday.
Inspired by John 20:21
Love the town we share.
We live, work, laugh and grieve here. We want to listen to our neighbours, build relationships and serve alongside our community, seeking the flourishing of the town God loves.
Inspired by Isaiah 61 and Jeremiah 29:7
Begin with God.
Only God can change a human heart. Before we make plans and set to work, we want to seek his presence and direction, depending on the Holy Spirit as we share Jesus’ hope.
Inspired by John 15:5
A place to pray.
A people sent out.
One proposal we could explore is developing the chapel into a House of Prayer for All Nations: a welcoming space set aside for prayer during the week, where people could bring their grief, gratitude and hopes to God, even while other activities fill the church.
A place to pause, receive prayer and pray for our neighbours and the nations. A resource to support the life and mission of the whole church. The drawings below show what this possibility could look like.
What could a House
of Prayer look like?
These chapel drawings show one proposal within the wider vision. Tap the numbers to explore what could change and the benefits it could bring.
Numbered markers and explanations have been added to help you explore. The original architect’s drawings are unchanged. Benefits describe the intended use of the space, rather than tested building performance.
A new glazed entrance
The proposed glazing and doors could create a more enclosed space while retaining the existing timber screen.
Room to gather
The proposed multipurpose area could offer room for shared prayer and small gatherings alongside the chapel.
Thoughtful additions
The drawings suggest storage, heating and lighting additions to support the space’s use during the week.
What is
my part?
Everyone has a part to play. You might offer time to serve, skills to share, a commitment to prayer or a financial gift. Bring your whole response to God as we seek hope beyond Sunday for our church and town.
To help realise our vision for the future
of our church and town.
Time
Make room to pray, serve and be present with people—in church and throughout the week.
Talents
Bring the skills and experience God has given you. Talk with the team about where you could contribute.
Tithes
Prayerfully consider what you can give as we trust God to provide for the next steps in our shared vision.
“Jesus, what is my part?”
As you prepare for Gift Day, make this your prayer. Join us on Sunday 25 October, bringing your Gift Day card and your prayerful response.
