Alpha is a 10-week course that creates a relaxed, open, and welcoming space to explore the big questions of life and the Christian faith. Each session includes a shared meal, a short talk, and time for honest, thoughtful discussion—no pressure, no judgement, just real conversations.

Whether you’re new to faith, exploring spirituality, or simply curious, Alpha is for everyone, whatever your background or beliefs. It’s a place to ask questions, share your perspective, and hear from others, because the most enriching conversations happen when we bring our real experiences to the table.

FAQs

  • No. Everyone is welcome at St Paul’s. Bring your family, bring a friend, or come on your own. However you turn up, you’ll receive a warm welcome.

  • We have a large car park right next door to our building for your use. It does fill up quickly but there’s parking on local roads and good bus links too.

  • If you live in the parish or have a ‘qualifying connection’ with us, we’d love to help with your wedding, baptism, or funeral. Get in touch, or head over to life events, and we’ll guide you through the next steps.

  • Small Groups are the best way to be discipled in a large church and they’re a great way to make new friends too. Head over to our ‘Small Groups’ page for more info, or get in touch with us.

  • No - but you might lose out on a seat. It’s absolutely fine to arrive late for church here. Come whenever you can. It will be great to see your face and to hear your story.

  • We’re always happy to chat. Our Staff Team here is made of both clergy and support staff. Check out the Team page, have a think who might be best to help and get in touch.
